CMI Insurance Company Limited is part of the HBOS Group, created when the Halifax Group and the Bank of Scotland merged in 2001. The HBOS Group is one of the largest financial services groups in Europe with assets under management in excess of £624 billion as at 30 June 2007 (approx US$1,225 billion).

Stability

Since 1824, despite wars and stock market crashes, Clerical Medical has never missed a bonus when due. A further sign of Clerical Medical's stability is that since 1824 there have only been 12 chief executives.

CMI Insurance Company Limited is registered and supervised by the Isle of Man Government Insurance and Pensions Authority and all its policyholders enjoy the protection of the Isle of Man Life Assurance (Compensation of Policyholders) Regulations 1991.
